How do you determine the final price for a job?
Our pricing is primarily based on the volume (how much space your items take up in our truck). We offer free, no-obligation estimates on-site. Please note that "high-density" items like concrete, dirt, or roofing shingles may incur a surcharge due to weight-limit regulations at disposal facilities.
Do I need to be present when you remove the items?
While we prefer a legal adult (18+) to be on-site to authorize the work, we can perform unattended service (such as curbside or exterior pickups) if pre-authorized via text or email. For safety reasons, we require confirmation that no minors will be on the property during the service.
Are there any items you cannot take?
Yes. In compliance with Illinois EPA regulations, we cannot haul hazardous materials. This includes wet paint, chemicals, solvents, propane tanks, asbestos, oil, or biohazardous waste. If you are unsure about an item, feel free to text us a photo!
What happens to my items after you take them?
Once items are loaded onto our truck, they become the property of Get Rid Of Junk LLC. We prioritize eco-friendly disposal by sorting loads for recycling and donating functional furniture or appliances to local Illinois charities whenever possible. Items that cannot be repurposed are disposed of at licensed transfer stations.
Are you insured for property damage?
Absolutely. Get Rid Of Junk LLC is a fully insured, professional operation. While we take extreme care when navigating your home or garage, our insurance and terms cover us in the unlikely event of damage caused by our team. Please note we are not liable for pre-existing structural damage or issues caused by third parties.
Can you handle small demolition projects, like sheds or decks?
Yes! Beyond standard junk removal, we specialize in light demolition. We can safely dismantle and haul away old sheds, play sets, decks, and fencing. These jobs usually require an on-site assessment to provide an accurate labor estimate.
